Why pegpads?

Hypoallergenic

Made from materials free from pthalates, parabens, or latex

No other stuff

Unscented, no lotion, or elemental chlorine

Wicks moisture

Wicks moisture away from skin and locks it in the pad

Snug Crosshair Fit

Crosshair holds on to the tube and removes need to tape the skin like gauze. Taping the slit can still help.

Instructions and Usage Info

Pegpads are a non-adhesive approach to managing the fluid leakage around percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes. The pads feature a wicking layer, an absorbent layer, and a clothing protection layer in an easy to use design. They are best used as a replacement for cotton pads or gauze and tape. The pads are hypoallergenic and do not contain any latex, parabens, or added fragrance. Pads should be removed prior to showering and should not be left on for more than 12 hours.

Instructions:

  1. Locate the waterproof side of the pad – it will be slightly shiny and slippery whereas the absorbent side will have a slight texture
  2. Open the slit and slide around the tube taking care to position the absorbent side of the pad facing the skin
  3. Adjust the pad as needed to make sure the crosshair is centered around the tube. Pad performs best when the slit is facing down or to the side.
  4. For additional support, tape across the slit. This will keep the pad in place for more active users. No tape necessary on skin.
  5. Pay attention to the fit of the pad. For low clearance tubes it may be necessary to use the “slim” version.
  6. Change the pad per the sooner of 12 hours elapsed or noticeable build up of fluid that is not being removed from skin
